Introduction To My Blog

Introduction

Lately, I have wanted to start a Blog on eating healthy and the effects of what not eating healthy does to our bodies. Like many families, ours is plagued with people & pets who have been diagnosed with cancer, hypothyroidism, diabetes and so on. I don't know if many people know this but now in the U.S. alone, over 2 million people each YEAR get diagnosed with cancer and 60% of Females in the U.S. have Hypothyroidism like me. When I researched why so many women suffer from hypothyroidism, I found out that women are more susceptible to autoimmune diseases than men. I'll go into as of why in later blogs. Diabetes has become a straight up plague, effecting over 40 million people in the U.S. today. And one of the problems I see with corporations controlling everything we eat & do nowadays, is they have figured out a cycle. They put poisons in or on our foods and then they develop a medicine to control the problem but never eliminate it. Because it's how they make money. So when I started down this rabbit hole, I began researching all my food and cosmetic type products we put into our bodies. Full Shout Out to the App YUKA, which is my go to for everything food & cosmetic related. My wife introduced it to me and now I am obsessed. Our family started off slowly changing things a few years ago when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. And I will get into some of those changes in the future. In the same year, my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer, and my uncle with pancreatic cancer. My dad and wife also have diabetes. My grandmother had diabetes and died from diabetic complications. My other grandmother died of pancreatic cancer. My grandfather died of bladder cancer. I've had two of my dogs die of cancer, one from diabetes and one of them now has Hypothyroidism, like me. I'm sure this is a similar story that every family can tell. And I am convinced it's all the garbage they put in our foods and the products we use.
With a little bit of humor and a lot of sarcasm, my hope is to educate people with ideas my family is using to make healthier choices and to share what I've learned that has made our lives better.
My hope is these choices in some way work for your families too. :-)
